EOD IS-ADM has been operational since spring 2000. It is the system that populates the field- systems (EOD IS-OP and -SURVEY) with ordnance data and data on RSP.
The EOD IS-CW (client on Wide Area Network) is "identical" to the local one and the function is the same. There is one exception - the EOD IS-CW is located several hundred miles form the main data base. The remote client is connected to the main database through an "unclassified broad band internet line". The information is scrambled through hardware crypto - equals with "NATO-SECRET".
Correct data is vital to the EOD and the demining team when it comes to identifying, destructing, rendering safe, defusing, disarming, transporting and reporting. To ensure that there's not more than one interpretation of what the ordnance look like, how it is constructed and the correct RSPs to each and every ordnance the data is stored in one and only one database.
