EOD IS XTrain Vienna

The EOD IS-OP 3.3.14.0 Beta was released for training and use in Afghanistan during the XTrain event in Vienna, Austria, on October 2-4 2007.

The event was perfectly hosted by the Austrian Armed Forces Logistics Centre and was attended by participants from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands.

MajGen Lidström and The Belgian Ambassador, HE Raoul Delcorde

The Kingdom of Belgium’s Ambassador, HE Raoul Delcorde, honoured with his presence the signing of the Technical Arrangement between Belgium and Sweden. The ceremony took place at the old Navy Officers Mess on the islet Skeppsholmen in the centre of Stockholm.

Representing the two countries’ Armed Forces at the signing table was Major-General Christer Lidström and Colonel Guido Maene.

With this act the Belgian Armed Forces are now in the position to fully use the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Information System (EOD IS). Belgium joined the EOD IS UserGroup where already Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Slovakia and United Kingdom are members.

Preparations are at an advanced stage with the Republic of France and we are eager to welcome them as the next member in a row of competent EOD experts.
